Five timelines. One executioner’s shadow.
GUILLOTINE is a darkly comic, politically charged anthology tracing the guillotine’s symbolic journey through history. From the chaos of the French Revolution to a Nazi execution chamber, a 1970s hypnosis show gone wrong, a hallucinatory desert vision quest and the live-streamed downfall of a modern dictator, the film cuts between eras with the precision of the blade itself.
Each story reveals a new face of power: the crowd hungry for blood, the state that industrializes death, the media that turns killing into spectacle and the individuals caught in the teeth of the machine. The only constant is the device at the center — a brutal invention that outlives regimes, ideologies and the people who think they control it.
Visually bold, tonally fearless and laced with satire, GUILLOTINE invites the audience to laugh, recoil and question why societies keep reinventing new ways to roll heads.
Stills from across centuries.
